WorkCase study / Motorcycle dealer

Sheffield Motorcycles.

Sheffield’s off-road and enduro specialist was selling bikes through a stock WordPress template carrying demo content, duplicate plugins and messy product data. We designed a new site, rebuilt it on a lean theme the client can still edit, and switched it live without losing a single order or customer.

01 / Where it started

A template, still in its demo clothes.

The old site was a WoodMart template with Elementor on top. It carried demo posts, two of everything and product data that made the stock hard to trust.

  • 18 active plugins, including two slider plugins, two Instagram widgets and two card gateways.
  • 9 posts, mostly theme demo content, still published.
  • Messy product data: new bikes filed as both New and Used, two test products live, brand names spelled several ways, broken product images.
  • Horizontal overflow on desktop, the page about 2,565 px wide in a 1,440 px window.
  • The map hidden behind a cookie blocker.

02 / How it ran

Design it, then switch without a wipe.

The live shop kept trading until the switch, and the switch was rehearsed first.

Live

03 / What we built

Enduro first, full throttle.

  • An enduro-first homepage with featured stock and reviews, a new logo and an animated logo intro.
  • Daily stock sync of SYM UK models, prices and availability.
  • Two new pages: Authorised dealers (Beta, Fantic, SYM, Keeway, Hero, Revvi) and Servicing and repairs.
  • Enquiry forms on the contact page and every bike, stored in the dashboard.
  • The map loads without a cookie blocker in the way.

05 / Under the hood

Switching live without a wipe.

A shop cannot simply be replaced: orders, customers and payment settings live in the same database as the design. The go-live was rehearsed on a copy of the live site first, then run with a full backup and a one-step rollback to the old theme.
