01General

How quickly will you reply?

Within one working day, and usually the same day. The reply comes from the people who would do the work, not a sales team.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, happily, before you share anything sensitive. Just mention it in your brief.

Do you work with businesses outside the Midlands?

Yes. We work with clients across the UK over video calls, and meet in person where it helps.

Do I need to know my budget before getting in touch?

No, but a rough range helps us suggest the right approach first time. Every project gets a fixed price before anything starts.

Do you only build on WordPress?

No. WordPress is right when you want to edit pages and products yourself; hand-coded or headless sites are right when speed matters most; apps, portals and CRMs are built on whatever suits the job. We recommend one on the first call and explain why.

Can you work on a site or system you did not build?

Yes. We audit, fix, speed up and extend sites and plugins we did not write, and we can take over hosting and care. If something is beyond saving, we will tell you straight away rather than bill you for trying.

Who owns the code?

You do. Once the final invoice is paid the code, designs and content are yours, with no licence fees or lock-in. Custom plugins, apps and CRMs come with documentation so another developer could pick them up.

How long does a custom app, portal or CRM take?

Most first versions launch in six to sixteen weeks depending on scope. We agree a fixed scope and price for version one, get it into your hands quickly, then improve it with the people who use it every day.

Do you offer support after launch?

Yes. Monthly care plans cover updates, security, backups, uptime monitoring and a bank of hours for changes. Apps include store updates when Apple or Google change their requirements.

What does monthly SEO include?

A technical fix list worked through each month, local and on-page improvements, new content where it will earn rankings, AI search readiness and a plain-English report of what changed and what it did.

02Process and pricing

How long does a project take?

A brochure website is usually four to six weeks from signed brief to launch. Stores, apps, portals and CRMs take longer, typically eight to sixteen weeks. You get a week-by-week plan before we start.

How do payments work?

A fixed price agreed before we start, paid in milestones as each stage is signed off. Never everything up front.

What if I want to change something mid-project?

Small changes are part of design rounds. If the scope changes, we tell you the cost and timing before doing anything, and you decide.

How involved do I need to be?

An hour or two for discovery, feedback on each design round within a few days, and final content before build. We handle the rest and update you weekly.

What happens after launch?

You can run the site yourself, or take a monthly care plan for updates, backups, security, small changes and a report.

03Website design

How much does website design cost?

It depends on the number of templates and how much is custom. Every project gets a fixed price after the discovery workshop, paid in milestones, so the number you agree is the number you pay.

Do I need a brand before you design the site?

No. If you have one we work within it; if it needs a refresh we can do both together, which is usually faster and cheaper than doing them separately.

How many rounds of changes do I get?

Two rounds on the design prototype are included, and in practice most clients need fewer because you are reviewing real screens on your own phone from week two.

Will I be able to edit the site myself?

Yes. If you will be changing pages, posts or products, we build on WordPress with editable blocks and walk you through it at handover. Hand-coded sites come with a simple way to change text and images.

Can you redesign my existing site without losing rankings?

Yes. We map every old URL to its new home, keep what is ranking, and set up redirects, search console and analytics before switching over.

Do you write the copy and supply photography?

We can. Copy that says what you do in ten seconds is part of the design job, and we can art-direct a shoot or source imagery if you do not have your own.

04Web development

WordPress, hand-coded or headless: which do I need?

If you will be adding pages, posts or products yourself, WordPress. If the site is mostly marketing pages that rarely change, hand-coded is faster and cheaper to run. Headless suits teams that want both a friendly editor and top-end speed. We recommend one on the first call.

Can you speed up my existing site?

Yes. We audit it, fix what is slowing it down, and can rebuild the heaviest templates. Slow Elementor and Divi sites can often be converted to lightweight static HTML.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I move to a new site?

Not if it is done properly. We map every old URL to its new home, set up permanent redirects, keep what is ranking and monitor search console closely after launch.

Who hosts the site?

You can host it anywhere. Most clients use our managed hosting, which includes backups, monitoring, security updates and a CDN, so you never need to think about servers.

Do I own the code?

Yes. Once the final invoice is paid the code, content and designs are yours, with no licence fees or lock-in.

05Custom plugins

Why not just use an existing plugin?

Often you should, and we will say so. When you are stacking several plugins to fake one feature, paying monthly for something basic, or fighting a plugin that does not quite fit, a custom one is usually cheaper and far more reliable.

Will it break when WordPress updates?

It is written to WordPress coding standards using its own APIs, and on a care plan we test it against every major WordPress and PHP release before you update.

Can you fix or extend a plugin someone else wrote?

Yes. We review the code first and tell you honestly whether it is worth extending or better rebuilt.

Can it connect to our accounting or booking software?

If the software has an API, almost certainly. Stripe, Xero, QuickBooks, Google, Microsoft, Twilio and most couriers and CRMs are routine.

Who owns the plugin?

You do, outright. No licence fees, no lock-in, and full documentation so another developer could maintain it.

06Web apps

How is a web app different from a website?

A website mostly tells people things. A web app does things: people log in, enter data, run calculations, make decisions and share work. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.

Can it work on phones as well?

Yes. Everything we build is responsive, and it can be installed to a home screen as a progressive web app. If you need App Store and Google Play apps too, we build those from the same back end.

What happens after version one?

We agree a roadmap and improve it in short, fixed-price sprints, or you can pause. Hosting, backups and security updates are covered on a monthly care plan.

Can it connect to software we already use?

If it has an API, almost certainly: accounting, payments, calendars, email, CRMs and couriers are all routine.

Who owns the app and the data?

You do. The code and data are yours, documented, and hosted in the UK or EU unless you choose otherwise.

07iOS and Android apps

Do I really need an app, or will a website do?

If customers use you once in a while, a fast website is usually better. Apps earn their keep when people come back often: bookings, ordering, loyalty, tracking or anything that benefits from notifications.

Is a cross-platform app as good as a native one?

For the vast majority of business apps, yes. React Native and Flutter compile to real native apps, with native performance and access to the camera, location and notifications.

Do you handle the App Store and Google Play?

Yes: developer accounts, listings, screenshots, privacy details, review and every update after launch.

What does it cost to keep an app running?

There are small store fees and hosting for any back end. Most clients take a care plan that covers store updates, OS changes and small improvements each month.

Can the app share data with our website or CRM?

Yes. We usually build one back end that feeds your site, portal, CRM and app, so everything stays in step.

08Portals

What can a portal connect to?

Your accounts package, stock system, CRM, document storage and payment provider are the usual ones. If it has an API, we can connect it.

Will our customers actually use it?

They do when it saves them time. We design it around the things they ask you for most, invite them in waves and make the first log-in effortless.

How secure is it?

Two-factor log-in, role-based permissions, an audit log, encrypted storage and UK or EU hosting as standard, with security testing before launch.

Can different customers see different prices?

Yes. Trade tiers, account-specific pricing, credit limits and payment terms are all standard.

Can it grow into an app later?

Yes. We build the portal on a back end that an iOS and Android app can use too.

09CRM systems

Why not use HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce?

Often they are the right answer, and we will say so. A custom CRM makes sense when your process does not fit them, when per-seat fees are climbing, or when you need it tied tightly to your own systems.

Can you move our data across?

Yes. We import contacts, companies, deals and history from spreadsheets or your current CRM, and check it with you before switching over.

Will it capture leads from our website automatically?

Yes. Forms, chat, calls and ad leads flow straight in with their source and campaign, so you can see which marketing actually works.

Can it send emails and texts automatically?

Yes. Follow-ups, reminders, quotes and review requests can all be triggered by what happens in the pipeline.

Who owns it?

You do: the code, the data and the hosting account. No per-seat fees, ever.

10SEO

How long does SEO take to work?

Technical fixes often show movement within weeks. Content and local work usually build over three to six months. We report monthly so you can see exactly what is moving.

Can you guarantee first place?

No honest agency can guarantee a position, because nobody controls Google. What we can promise is a clear plan, the biggest fixes first, and reporting that shows what each change did.

What is AI search optimisation?

Making your site easy for tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to understand and quote: clear answers, structured data and consistent information about your business across the web.

Do you work on sites you did not build?

Yes. WordPress, Shopify, Wix, hand-coded and more. If something on the platform is holding you back, we will tell you.

Is there a minimum contract?

We ask for three months to give the work time to show results, then it is month to month.
