Services04 / Custom web apps

Tools and platforms that run in the browser.

If a spreadsheet is running part of your business, it can probably be an app. We scope a first version you can use within weeks, then build on it with the people who use it every day.

Why it matters

Every business has a process held together by a spreadsheet and one person who understands it. Turn it into software and that knowledge stops walking out of the door. It just runs.

Questions

About custom web apps.

Anything else, ring us. A five minute conversation usually answers more than a five page proposal.

How is a web app different from a website?

A website mostly tells people things. A web app does things: people log in, enter data, run calculations, make decisions and share work. It runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.

Can it work on phones as well?

Yes. Everything we build is responsive, and it can be installed to a home screen as a progressive web app. If you need App Store and Google Play apps too, we build those from the same back end.

What happens after version one?

We agree a roadmap and improve it in short, fixed-price sprints, or you can pause. Hosting, backups and security updates are covered on a monthly care plan.

Can it connect to software we already use?

If it has an API, almost certainly: accounting, payments, calendars, email, CRMs and couriers are all routine.

Who owns the app and the data?

You do. The code and data are yours, documented, and hosted in the UK or EU unless you choose otherwise.
